Two

To my Happy One,

Just days old!

I have many thoughts running through my mind as I think over the last year.  I remembering wondering if the letter I wrote to you last year would be the only letter I ever wrote to you.  I wondered how long it would be until you held your own bottle...A lot has changed in this last year.  You no longer live in limbo, this year you officially became our son, with our last name.  Nothing has changed for you, as you've only known us as yours, but for me my heart is settled without fear of your future.  You are loved, and adored and one of my favorite people, even at two.

You on your first birthday!

Some mile stones:
~ You rolled over intentionally just after your first birthday.
~ At 13 months you learned to walk, skipping the crawling part.

First time holding your own drink!

~ At 18 months you started holding your own bottles, and feeding yourself.
~ You're pretty much past the gagging/vomiting part.  You do still struggle with it when we brush your teeth.  OT, and PT have been good to you.

This is a person sized Lazy-Susan, we used it for OT, up to 64 rotations a day.  You loved this.  It truly gave your system balance.

~ You spoke you're first words this year.

Helping

Sweet boy I am blessed to be your Momma.  It's just a little after six on your birthday morning as I write.  I can hear you happily playing in your room.  You live life to it's fullest, constantly pushing boundaries as every two year old does.  This is one reason we call you Crasher. You have many words, but you also have many signs that you use to communicate.  For example when I'm cooking you'll walk over to the stove point at it and say Momma while also blowing, your way of saying it's hot.  On a warm day if I put you in the car you'll say the same thing about your car seat.  Slowly you are finding your words.  One of your favorite phrases right now is "Uh-oh car"-for when it gets lost under or in the couch.  Or "Momma go car?" for when you want to leave the house, which is pretty much from the minute you wake up.

At your adoption celebration with all of our friends.  Also a time to remember our parenting goals to teach you to be responsible, respectful, and obedient.

My prayer for you this year is that as you learn to explore life and to become your own person that your heart will be tender to our teaching, that you'll learn right from wrong, and when to let go of your two year old will.  I hope tantrums will be a phase that passes quickly.  I pray that you know you are safe with or without me.  Right now you are nervous to be near strangers, or even family.  You cling to me like most cling to their favorite stuffed animal.  In some ways I kind of adore it.  You are my last baby, the snuggles, and having your small hands wrapped tightly around me warms my Momma heart.  However sweet boy you are safe.  I hope this year you learn that.  Lastly I pray you grow into the boy that God made you to be.  I pray that we can teach you to see his love in all of life. Baby boy, I love you more than you will ever known.

Even in your sleep you hold tight to your cars.

Here are some of your favorite things:
Toys: Cars-You take them with you on our adventures, when you sleep, when you bathe, everywhere you go. You are also pretty fond of Mr. Fox as well.
Words: Car, water (Both said with a strong Maine accent.)

Your camera smile.

Food: Pizza, with any kind of toppings.
Books: Who is at Home, Jesse Bear What Will You Wear

My sweet Crasher, you are loved beyond words.
